The Trevi fountain is the largest an most ambitious of the Baroque fountains in Rome.It is a truly charming sight. The fountain which is on the junction of three roads was one of the ancient sources of water for Rome.It served Rome for as much as 400 years. It was built by the humanist architect Leon Battista Alberti

Then comes Venice which as we all now is situated in water. The gondolas and the atmosphere is truly wonderful. It is very known for its canals and is built on an archipelago of 118 islands!!!!!One of th very famous bridge over there is the Rialto Bridge.Surprisingly it is the oldest bridge in Venice. It was built in 1811but collapsed even after restoring it twice.Once it was half burnt due to a revolt led by Bajamonte Tiepoloand the secons time when a crowd was watching a boat race.

Last but not the least comes one of the most important cities of Italy-Milan.It is one of the most important cities in Northern Italy being the larget in its area.Very well known for its art architecture and fashion it has th famous pieces of art by none other than Leonardo Da Vinci. It has some of the very good universities such as Universita Statale,Universita Bocconi etc.Milan is very famous for its fantastic taste of fashion. Some of the famous brands like PRADAandVERSACEcome from milan.

Just for those who are neither intrested in fashion or monuments you can gorge on the delicious pizzas, pastas and most important the famous gelatos.

                                   EGYPT

                                 By Jhanvi Motla

Guess what’s hot this season??????? guess..........guess.................keep
guessin........................ok wait I'll tell you. It's as we call it …..
'Ancient Egypt'. It’s one of the most historical landmarks of the world;
The Pryamids of Giza, the mask of Tutankhamen, all the Eygptian civilization
ruins ,The Ramesses and much much more. If you’re not sure where you want to go for a holiday I assure you that Egypt is the best. Although I have never been
there I have heard a lot and after doing enough research work have found that
its a totally amazing place to visit.

Eygpt located in Africa has its own unique position.

The pyramids of Egypt are one of the largest man made constructions ever
conceived, They say that they were constructed for burials of the kings of that
period. They were made of limestone by the slaves. They are considered to be
holy and are very important - and also they are the main reason why thousands of people flock down to Egypt for holidays.

Like any crossroads culture, Egyptian cuisine has picked and chosen those
ingredients and food that grow best as well as best meet the flavor and
nutritional needs of their people. Bridging Africa and Asia as it does,
Egypt has a lot from which to choose.

Egyptians have embraced the tomato and we never had one that wasn't bursting
with color and flavor. The traditional and ubiquitous salad is chopped
tomato, coriander, mint, little hot green peppers (not jalapenos but close)
and onions, coated with garlic oil. It's great for digestion but death on
the breath. Bring mints. Other veggies that grow well and show up all the
time include beans, mostly chick pea and fava, which are eaten stewed for
breakfast, hearty stewed for lunch and dinner and ground and pasted for
tahini and hummus with great amounts of garlic.

             GIR   NATIONAL  PARK
                     By Anushka Doshi

Gir national park is a beautiful forest which has been endowed with rich biodiversity and nature ecosystems which include dry deciduous forest, thorny shrubs, deserts, grasslands, and many more which can only be revealed once you go there.Gir is also the last home of the Asiatic lion. It also has a variety of animals like crocodiles, leopards, spotted-deer, nilgai, and sambar ….. (I could go on and on…………. Least you could do is to pay a visit to gir national park or else I would be still typing over here……………) .But one thing that I find very interesting and unique about this forest is that ………….in the heart of the forest there lives a tribe .It fascinates me that the tribe has schools where children learn and everything else all in the midst of the forest.

My experience and opinion: I went to gir national park for a school camp. It was a great experience. I was ecstatic when we saw 2 lionesses. Besides the wildlife there the entire forest atmosphere made me feel relaxed. My boring, silly homework assignments and all my worries were driven away when I went there. It was cooooooooooool fun….N e ways check it out!!!!!!!!!

The more adventurous ones can also try para-sailing and bunjeee jumping, but as they say, AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!  If you are not too inclined to enter the water, you could just take a long walk on the soft sand, taking in the fresh sea air.

INCREDIBLE ITALY

                           By Anushka Doshi

Italy is a perfect tourist spot as it is a land of so many contrasts. Right from its capital Rome which has amazing structures to Milan for its outstanding fashion to Mt. Etna which is an active volcano, Florence, Rome, Tuscany, Venice and Milan all have their unique specialties.

Rome has some grand structures, many of which are relics of ancient times. For example, the Colosseum was an impressive games arena. The games which were played there were very inhuman but are nevertheless fascinating for us. Sometimes this arena would have night shows where mobs of people would be cheering right until dawn. The high-ranking people and nobles would drink wine and then vomit to empty their stomachs so that they could indulge themselves even more. INTERESTING, HUH !!!

Venice has its own charm. It has numerous gondolas and water taxis. It is a lovely, quaint area and it is said that if you kiss someone under a bridge and make a wish, it will come true ………….. soooooooooooo Italy has many secrets which can only be revealed when you travel there.

But if you’re not really interested in history, there are scrumptious pizzas, pastas  - and how could I forget ! The lip-smacking, non-fattening gelatos (ice creams)

          SLLLLURP!!!!!!!!!!!

AUSTRIA

By Ankita Sukthankar

Europe is a place most of us have visited. Whether it is the U.K. or Norway, Scotland or Sweden, every part of Europe is lovely. I’ve traveled to a few places in Europe, too, and I’ve found Austria to be one of the prettiest.

Austria: the place famous for the ‘Sound of Music’ play and movie. Of course, there is a wonderful tour to see the beautiful sights where the ‘Sound of Music’ movie scenes were shot. The glass gazebo, the Abbey and the house, all wonderful structures.

We must not forget, Austria is also famous for…Mozart. A brilliant musician, who contributed so much to music, and who lived in Vienna.

Another must-see attraction is the Schonbrunn Palace. A tour through this magnificent palace will leave you awestruck. It is truly a gorgeous and beautiful place to visit.

Of course, there are other tourist attractions like  the Horse Show, and fascinating art museums and gardens.

But you cannot say you have experienced Austria if you haven’t experienced the warmth and friendliness of the extremely jovial Austrians. I vividly remember one particular instance. It was when I had gone for the ‘Sound of music’ tour. Our guide, Robert, was very enthusiastic. In a very jovial mood, he taught me this song, a version of ‘Do Re Me..’ played in bars! It goes like this:

“Do, a beer a German beer,

Ray, the guy who serves the drinks.

Me, a man, beer I want more,

Far, a long way to the bar.

  So. I think I’ll have a beer.

La, la la la la la,

Tea? No thanks I’ll have a beer.

And that brings us back to do oh oh ho!”

This fun song comes to my mind very often, and it just proves how fun loving the Austrians are.

So you see, my friends, Austria is not just a beautiful country, but also a very warm and friendly one. You must visit this country, and…….and PLEASE say a BIG HELLO from me!
